1999 Vokswagen Jetta GLS VR6, 2.8L, 174HP, 4SP Adaptive Automatic
183,000 miles — $1500 FIRM
Leather all around, heated seats, sun roof, cruise, power windows, 6 disc CD changer & am/fm stereo, heat/air, dual front and side impact airbags for front occupants, lockable 60/40 rear seats, side mirror defrost, height adjustable telescoping steering column, RF remote locking system and alarm, and aluminum alloy wheels equipped with Goodyear Assurance tires. The tires have ~30kmiles on them, but will probably last another 20k — they’re in great shape.
The engine is only running on 3 of 6 six cylanders, and with 99% certainty has a broken timing chain, of which there are three. (All odd numbered misfire).
This would make a great vehicle for a Volkswagen, or foreign car enthusiast, or mechanic, with some time to perform an engine rebuild, or replace it. Drivetrain, and all other systems are in good shape. A brand new radiator and alternator were installed within the last six weeks, as well as two new cooling fans six months ago. I cannot afford an engine rebuild at this point. The car has been very good to me, and would continue to perform well with some engine maintenance.
