Analyzing Analytics Analytically

So tracking my website is fun at times, especially when job hunting - to a point. It would be nice to know who in Dallas was viewing my work on an iPhone, March 26, 2010. (I’m willing to relocate.) Analytics is a wonderful tool, but only serves as an ego check constantly reminding me of one thing: You suck at marketing yourself.

What’s more, will not book itself. Brides are not going to come knocking on your door to ask to shoot their weddings. No wire service is looking for you to join their ranks anytime soon. And, without a genuine marketable photographic service, or product, that real people need, food will not magically appear on the table before your family.

The reality of earning a weekly, or bi-weekly paycheck as a working photography is rapidly vanishing. Time to make some hard decisions. Time to take some risks.
